Start on the living-room TV

This page is the Spain entry point. This site does not yet have a dedicated Spain country guide. Use the EPG setup guide when the grid is blank, and the Europe VPN guide when you are travelling. The France hub is the nearest living-room neighbour if the house also watches TF1 or beIN SPORTS. Use this hub to pick an app we actually document, check Movistar, Orange, or Vodafone at home, and decide whether a blank La 1 row is a bind or a missing file.

Most Spanish living rooms need one player the whole house can use. That is IBO Player. It is the same default as the France hub for a mixed apartment: Android TV or a Fire Stick on the main set, a Samsung or LG in the bedroom, and a phone in the kitchen. Accented titles have to stay readable in the TVE list. IBO Player does that without a second login style.

Duplex TV is the better living-room pick when the TV is an older Samsung or LG, or when someone in the house lives in the programme guide. Catch-up is a first-class habit when a provider actually exposes TVE or Atresmedia start-over. Duplex TV is the app on this site that keeps that guide on the big screen.

HOT Player stays Android-first. Use it when the playlist has a real Spanish VOD library and you want posters instead of a long channel list. It is a weak only-app if the lounge TV is a Samsung or LG. Install IBO Player there, then add HOT Player only if you already know you want that home screen.

What Movistar, Orange, and Vodafone change at home

Fibre from Movistar, Orange, and Vodafone is why HD IPTV is ordinary in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Seville. The player does not fix a congested stairwell switch or a blocked port. Ethernet to the box still beats arguing about buffer sizes.

Movistar. Leave the buffer where the player put it on Movistar fibre. Channel changes should feel instant. Startup delays are usually DNS. The ISP's own TV product can hold onto resolver answers that a third-party playlist does not need. Set Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 or Google 8.8.8.8, then retry. Movistar copper or a slower rural line is a different story. 1080p is fine. 4K is not a promise.

Orange. Orange fibre behaves like Movistar fibre for this purpose. If login fails on a line that otherwise works, try a playlist URL on port 80 or 443 before you reinstall the app. The France hub already walks that Orange fibre check for a Livebox. The Spanish Orange box is a different product, but the DNS and port habit is the same class of house fix.

Vodafone. Vodafone fibre is fine for live rows in a wired living room. Vodafone cable in a busy building is the evening load case. Wire the box. Raise the buffer. Wi-Fi on a shared 5 GHz network in the same flat makes that worse. A holiday rental on a mobile router is a last-resort line. Do not use it as the main TV connection.

Prove the playlist, then fix the guide

Do not start with a 10,000-row Europe dump. Pin La 1, Antena 3, Telecinco, and La Sexta. If those four play, the subscription is usable. Clan, #0, regional windows, and the sports rows can wait. This hub will not invent a TVE XMLTV ID table. Those tokens are not published on this site.

If La 1 shows last night's film after a "successful" refresh, the file loaded and the row is bound to the wrong id. That is a matching problem. The XMLTV ID hub walks through how IBO Player, MAT Player, and Duplex TV attach an id to a row. The public stacks there are SRF, ERT, VRT, and SVT. The bind is the same work on La 1. Search the XML for the id, not the pretty name. Auto-match still grabs "La 1 HD" and leaves the row you watch empty. If the whole grid is blank, you do not have an ID problem yet. Fix the URL and the refresh first. The EPG setup guide covers that step.

Set the player to UTF-8 before you decide Spanish titles are broken. Boxes on Telediario, or a missing tilde, are encoding, not a bad playlist. Duplicate HD copies are organisation. Hide the groups you never use before you add a second XMLTV file.
